PSE Razorback Takedown Recurve Bow Review
The PSE Razorback Takedown recurve bow is a great bow for beginners and young archers. It’s perfect for target shooting, however the bow isn’t aimed at the hunting market due to its lower draw weights. The PSE Razorback is less powerful than the number 1 selling recurve bow the Samick Sage, but it is more affordable. This bow makes for a great introduction to archery and is perfect for younger archers and those who do not wish to tackle the high strength bows.
Due to its power profile, we would recommend the PSE Razorback Takedown recurve bow for adults up to 5’7” in height who are looking for a draw weight between 20 and 35lbs.
Materials & Construction
The bow is also a takedown meaning that the limbs can be easily removed for transport or replaced with an upgrade. The riser is made from a combination of Walnut, Burmese White, and Beech Wood making it attractive yet durable. The riser has also been drilled with bushings installed for a stabilizer and sight.
The limbs are made from Maple wood surrounded by an outer layer of fiberglass. Whilst not specifically reinforced for Fast Flight strings, the lower draw weights for this bow mean the limbs don’t have to withstand as much stress, and can cope easily cope with the Fast Flight strings. The bow weight is quite low at 2.2 lbs making it ideal for younger or smaller framed adults.
The bow is available in both left and right handed options.
This bow is a very affordable and durable option for beginners looking to advance their skills in target archery. Due to the lower draw weight options, the bow is recommended for younger archers or female adults. We’re certainly not saying that this bow is a poor choice for adult males, however you may find you will outgrow it as your strength increases after regular use. Overall, a great beginner bow for target archery.
